Dominica has two main airports: Douglas-Charles (DOM), formerly known as Melville Hall, and Canefield (DCF) Airports. Majority of Dominica’s tourists and visitors travel through Douglas-Charles Airport as it is the largest.
Douglas–Charles Airport is situated on the northeast coast of Dominica and an hour away from the city of Portsmouth. The airport was renamed from Melville Hall Airport to Douglas–Charles Airport on 27 October 2014 to give honor to Prime Ministers Rosie Douglas and Pierre Charles.It houses the Dominica Outstation of the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority. Douglas-Charles Aiport services passenger and cargo airlines. Having travelled the Caribbean Islands for a few years it is a challenge to organise flying within the islands. However we travelled from Antigua to St Barths and then St Barths to Mustique and back to Antigua. On the day of the flights, there were no surprises. The aircraft was immaculately presented, and the captain and co-pilot were completely professional.
Caribbean Charter Flights incredible service and willingness to do whatever it takes really saved the day by allowing us to get to the RORC 600 Race in Antigua. We missed our connection flight with Liat from St Maarten.
